Edinburgh’s Telford College to Launch Renewable Energies Training Centre
Recognising the significant need for growth in the renewable energies industry in the UK, Edinburgh’s Telford College is delighted to announce that on Monday 27 September 2010 it will be signing a new partnership agreement with PPL Training to launch and construct a dedicated, Renewable Energies Training Centre within the College’s state-of-the-art campus in Granton, north Edinburgh.
PPL Training, based in York, is one of the leading training providers for renewable energies in the UK and has almost a decade of training experience in the building services and renewable energies sectors. The new Renewable Energy Centre will be officially opened in December 2010 and will provide training on a variety of renewable energy courses, from solar, photovoltaics (PV) to underground heat source pumps.
This Centre will also see the development of an ‘eco apartment’ which will bring together academia from colleges and universities with the construction and engineering industry to showcase the latest environmentally-friendly technologies and building methods. This will provide the building industry in Edinburgh and the East of Scotland with a new focus to deliver zero carbon, modern, efficient, affordable homes.
