This course will help you develop a deeper understanding and an increased skillset in the theory and practical elements required to work in the outdoor pursuits industry. It is a practical, full time course designed to equip you for further study or employment. It is is ideal for those looking for a career in an exciting, varied and developing industry. There are activity related residentials and a 5 – 6 week work placement.
Although no formal qualifications are required for this course, evidence of participation and experience in at least two of the following must be provided:
An experience of assisting/volunteering would be advantageous.
You may be a candidate such as a mature returnee or one who wishes to change career or perhaps retrain following a career break to raise a family. In these or other cases we would take into account work experience, life skills and potential ability.
You must be aged 18 years or over by October 2017.
You must have an active interest and previous experience/regular participation in outdoor pursuits activities.
Although not essential at the point of application, evidence of a suitable level of clearance through the PVG scheme will be an expectation of all applicants.
The interview session will consist of a presentation followed by a one to one interview
You may go directly into the world of work or progress onto further study at appropriately levelled courses such as:
