Course Overview

Interested in a fast track into studying HNC Childcare?  Want to know more?

This course is designed as a fast-track into our HNC in a Childhood Practice course.  It will give you the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to move into our HNC course.  It is ideal for those who wish to return to education and want to prepare themselves for study at this level.

SWAP (Scottish Wider Access Programme) courses are designed for people who have few or no formal qualifications and have been out of full-time education for at least 3 years (5 years if studied Highers or a Higher National Certificate course or a course at a similar level). Placement Information
  • Not required – but hands-on experience through voluntary or paid work would be beneficial alongside the course
Entry Requirements
  • A good level of written and spoken English, an interest in working with children and young people
English Proficiency Requirements
  • IELTS 5.5 minimum
How the course is assessed
  • The course is assessed through a variety of methods such as written assignments, exams and presentations
