Course Overview

This course combines creative and professional units to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to be a professional photographer today. You`ll be taught by practising photographers with a wealth of experience and knowledge across the industry. In addition, guest lecturers from a variety of backgrounds are invited to give you a valuable insight into real professional and creative practice.

The course has been developed with considerable industry research to provide you with a broad-based creative and commercially-relevant experience that will give you the competitive edge you need. The photography department offers access to a fantastic range of studios dark rooms and digital suites where you will experience professional equipment - both analogue and digital.

This course is ideal if you wish to pursue a rewarding photography career. In addition, you`ll be extremely well-prepared to develop your skills even further in our BA Professional Photography course.

Entry Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 Highers to include Photography, English, Art or a Science
  • NC Photography / Digital Imaging at SCQF Level 6
  • Relevant industry experience
  • A portfolio containing a minimum of twenty examples of your current practical photography at interview
