There are many different accommodation options in Edinburgh during the summer; here we have listed those we think to offer the best value for money. We can book you homestay accommodation; other options you must book directly with the provider.
Edinburgh is very busy during the summer, especially during August when thousands of tourist and visitors come to the city. Book your accommodation as early as possible.
Homestay - Affordable Accommodation
Many students choose to stay with a homestay host, as this provides an excellent chance to practise your English. We do our best to ensure students from the same country are not placed in the same household. Most of the accommodation offered is on the west side of Edinburgh, approximately 15 - 20 minutes from the city centre by bus or car. All of our homestay accommodation is inspected every two years by Accommodation staff in accordance with the Accreditation UK (British Council) criteria.
- Have breakfast and evening meal with your homestay host
- You are invited to participate in the life of the household, giving you more opportunities to practise your English and learn about Scottish and British ways of life
- Cost per week: Single Room £180 / Shared Room £150*
*Please note, shared rooms can only be provided where 2 students of the same gender and similar age apply together
Homestay: Self- Catering
- You shop for food and prepare your own meals.
- Provides you with more flexibility and independence.
- Cost per week: Single Room £150
Homestay accommodation is normally booked from Sunday to Sunday. Additional nights will be charged extra and we cannot guarantee that they will be with the same host.
Please note that students under the age of 18 must return to their homestay before 11.00pm each night.

Halls of Residence and Student Flats
The Sighthill Campus does not have a student residence. However, there are a limited number of rooms in Halls of Residence throughout the city. It is more expensive than homestay accommodation, but some students prefer this chance to live independently. You will normally have your own bedroom, and share a kitchen with other students. Some bedrooms have en-suite facilities; in others, there will be a shared bathroom.
You should book directly with the provider, NOT with the College.
Hostels are a cheap option for short stays. You will usually share a room. To book, contact the hostel directly.
